The purpose of this paper is to improve the injection
performance of a fuel-injected gasoline engine. The Air-
Fuel Ratio (A.F.R.) is difficult to maintain within the range
of high conversion efficiency at all operating conditions due
to the nonlinear characteristics of an internal combustion
engine. Thus, in order to reduce NOx (Nitrogen Oxides), CO
(Carbon monoxide) and HC (Hydrocarbon) emission as the
A.F.R. moves outside the window, an algorithm for the
output feedback adaptive control applied. The control
approach has proved asymptotical stable via Lyapunove
theory. Finally, computer simulation has also been
performed to show the validity of the control scheme.
