中文摘要

The purpose of the experiment was to study whether supplying extra zinc in trace minerals supplement would influence the digestibility and zinc residue of hair in pigs. A total of 8 pigs were used and randomly distributed into two treatments. Treatment 1: Four pigs were fed normal zinc diet in stall. Treatment 2: Four pigs were fed normal zinc diet and then fed low zinc diet with no extra zinc supplement from trace minerals. The pigs’ back hair was cut first before experiment, a second time after two weeks’ treatment, and a third time after another two weeks’ treatment. The metabolic tests were conducted once during the second week and again during the fourth week of test. The diet provided for pigs was corn soybean meal. The results showed that the reduction of zinc in the pig diet caused lower zinc, copper, magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, and manganese content in pig hair. The digestibility of zinc, magnesium, phosphorous, calcium, manganese, and protein was reduced with lower zinc content in pig diet. The results showed that zinc is a very important mineral, which always influences the absorption of other nutrients.
