中文摘要

The purpose of the experiment was to study whether supplying extra copper in trace minerals supplement would influence the digestibility and copper residue of hair in pigs. A total of 8 pigs were used, randomly distributed into two treatments. Treatment 1: Four pigs were fed normal copper diet in stall. Treatment 2: Four pigs were fed normal copper diet and then fed low copper diet with no extra copper supplement in trace minerals. The pigs’ back hair was cut first before experiment, a second time after two weeks’ treatment, and again after another two weeks’ treatment. The metabolic tests were conducted once during the second week and again during the fourth week of test. The diet provided for pigs was corn soybean meal. The results showed that the content of copper, magnesium, and iron level in hair was reduced if feed lacked copper supplement. However, the zinc and calcium level of hair increased under the same condition. Without extra copper supplement in the pig corn-soybean meal diet, the digestibility of copper, phosphorus, protein, manganese, iron, and potassium dropped.
