In recently, the serious sediment disasters have been created after torrential rainfall or the earthquake, and people losses their lives and properties. Therefore, one of the most important key works is to provide the authentic environment information in real-time of disaster area to forecast and alert the sediment disaster. For the rescue actions can be started up as soon as possible and then reduce the number of casualties when the sediment disasters occur. This dissertation uses technology of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and Multimedia to plan and design a system, which calls “Distribution of Sediment Disasters Trends Sensing and Alerting System” (DTSAS). DTSAS is a three-tier system which composes of Mobile Users (MUs), Multimedia Server (MS), and Disaster Decision Server (DDS). DTSAS is not only using technology of Wireless Sensor and Media, but also combining the Global Position System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS), and Virtual Reality (VR). MS receives the data which is motion of direction and distance, environment information of temperature and humidity both by sensors, and GPS value by GPS module on the Internet. DDS always forecasts the possible of sediment disasters by these detection and analysis data. When sediment disaster takes place, MUs will show the site and data which sediment disaster occurs by VR on user’s mobile devices, which make an effective disaster information system to assist the disaster protection and alerting works.
