This paper proposes a prototype of temperature chamber to achieve the goal of
precise temperature control and power saving. To avoid uneven spread of temperature in space, this paper proposes a mini dome-shaped half sphere with thermoelectric cooling module set in
four locations and temperature sensor module set top of the dome. The module is equipped with
wireless transmitter capable of transmitting temperature-sensing signal to micro-controller,
which controls each thermoelectric cooling module so that the temperature in the chamber can meet the desired need. In addition, the heat generated from the hot-surface-side from thermoelectric cooling module is stored and then used under the temperature control of environment chamber. This method can decrease power loss in temperature chamber. The experiment result shows that the temperature in the chamber can reach desired temperature within regulated time. The power saves up to 5% with the insertion of heat reservoir. In addition, the power conversion efficiency of thermoelectric cooling module promotes up to 10~15%. The proposed temperature chamber can be applied to the cultivation of crops or high-altitude carnivorous plants.
