In the greenhouse, the use of multi-wavelength light emitting diode (LED)
lighting for plant can enhance the plant morphology or shape. However, the lighting
formula needs to be adjusted in order to meet the requirement of different growth
stages of plant. This study proposes a multi-loop LED light quality regulation technique with wireless Bluetooth controlled modules to increase flexibility of LED lighting management within the greenhouse. The operator can utilize graphic user interface to plan the multiple lighting formulas (including light quality and light quantity). These formula data can be sent to microcontroller via Bluetooth device and stored in fresh memory. Then, the operator can select the desired light formula on the controller panel to meet the condition of light physiological of plant through lighting switching device. The proposed technique with power management mechanism can be applied in greenhouse for plant lighting and reduce power consumption and labor cost.
