This study was to determine residue of sulfamonomethoxine(SMM), sulfadimethoxine(SDM) and trimethoprim (TMP) in eggs by oral administration in laying hens. A single dose of SMM 100 mg/kg with TMP 20 mg/kg, and SDM 160 mg/kg with TMP 32 mg/kg was given to 5 hens of each group, respectively. The eggs were collected for consecutive 10 days after administrated. The concentration of SMM and SDM in egg white and yolk was detected by HPLC method. Egg white and yolk were extracted with acetonitrile. Each sulfonamide was separated by a LC reversed-phase C18 column at 35℃ and detected at 260 nm with a mobile phase consisted of mixture of 0.01 M potassium dihydrogen phosphate and acetonitrile (v/v,75:25). The recoveries were 79.8 and 71.5% for SMM and 77.2 and 74.0% for SDM in the egg white and yolk, respectively. The limits of detection were 0.12, 0.11, and 0.06μg/g for SMM and 0.02, 0.03, and 0.04μg/g for SDM in standard solution, egg white and yolk, respectively. The SMM concentration reached maximal levels on day 1 of the post-treatment, 0.21 and 0.05μg/g in egg white and yolk, respectively. However, The SDM concentration reached maximal levels on day 1 (0.43μg/g) in egg white, but, day 3 (0.22μg/g) in egg yolk post-treatment. The results indicated that this method may be suitable for the detection of sulfonamides residue in eggs.
