This study aimed at the estimation of Auguststine grassland evapotranspiration in southern Taiwan. The plot was located in the Meteorological Station of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, which area was 0.38 ha within 97 m length and 42 m width. The observational tower was situated in the central grassland, and the micro-meteorological measurements were conducted to the predicted evapotranspiration (ET) by heat budget method. The soil deficiency within 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 and 1 m depth under ground surface was performed to find the estimated evapotranspiration (ETc). All the data were collected from October 2005 to April 2006. To compare the ET and ETc could comprehend the adaptive estimation of Auguststine grassland evapotranspiration in droughty winter and rainy spring. The primary results had shown the moisture within air layer nearby grassland surface would be persisted in a stable situation by the evapotranspiration. In natural condition, the ET was higher than the ETc in droughty winter and rainy spring. The Auguststine grassland evapotranspiration predicted by heat budget method would result in an over estimated bias.
